Wednesday Wisdom: Acceptance → Acknowledgment → Action → Change
“Today I am willing to acknowledge, admit and accept that I know what I know.”
— Iyanla Vanzant
Pause for a moment.
-Breathe in deeply… exhale slowly.
-Again… inhale… and release.
-One more time…
Center yourself… and arrive fully in this moment.
Now revisit the quote.
What resonates?
From a coaching perspective, this is the foundation of self-awareness—a core competency in the International Coaching Federation framework. Awareness precedes choice. Choice precedes transformation.
So let’s explore, honestly and without judgment:
What are you pretending not to see?
At times, leaders and high-performers operate in subtle avoidance—ignoring signals, delaying decisions, or overriding intuition. Yet misalignment often shows up as tension between what we know and how we act.
As Iyanla Vanzant reminds us:
Acting like you don’t know—when you know—creates unnecessary struggle.
That dissonance? It’s data.
Reflective Inquiry (for you and your teams):
Where in your leadership or life are you out of alignment with what you already know?
What truth have you minimized, postponed, or rationalized?
What is the cost of staying where you are—professionally, emotionally, relationally?
What becomes possible when you fully acknowledge your truth?
What is one courageous action you are willing to take today?
The “Stuck” Pattern:
Feeling stuck is often not about lack of capability—it’s about unexamined thinking.
Consider this coaching lens:
What do you think about… what you think about?
Are your current thoughts evolving—or repeating?
Are those thoughts creating momentum—or maintaining inertia?
Disruption begins with awareness. Progress follows intentional action.
Affirmation for Today:
I am willing to acknowledge, admit, and accept what I know—when I know it.
And I choose to act in alignment with that truth.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” — Maya Angelou
Growth is not accidental—it is a deliberate practice of reflection, ownership, and aligned action.
Coaching Insight:
In today’s complex and often polarized environment, clarity is power.
When you trust your internal knowing, you reduce noise, strengthen decision-making, and lead with integrity.
So the question becomes:
What are you willing to do—differently—starting now?
When you honor what you know, you unlock the power to become what you’re meant to lead.
Be intentional. Model courage. Invite others into accountability.
And watch what shifts.
You’ve got this!
