Monday Madness | The Process of Life Begins Within

Get out of your head and into your life. Fight. Grind. Repeat.”
— Bobby Bones

Before you continue reading, consider this:

What story are you telling yourself that may be keeping you from fully living?

Pause for a moment:

-Take a deep breath in… exhale slowly.

-Again… inhale… and release.

-One more time… inhale… exhale…

Allow yourself to become present.

As leaders, parents, partners, and human beings, we often spend tremendous energy trying to control the conditions of life while overlooking the process of living.

This month’s theme has been Forgiveness—and perhaps one of the greatest acts of forgiveness is releasing ourselves from the stories that no longer serve us.

In Until Today: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind, Iyanla Vanzant reminds us that we often confuse the conditions of life with the process of life.

The conditions are our circumstances—what has happened, what is happening, or what feels beyond our control.

The process is different. It is how we choose to respond. It is built through intentional actions, values-based decisions, self-awareness, accountability, trust, humility, and the courage to begin again.

From an ICF coaching perspective, sustainable transformation begins not by changing every external circumstance, but by increasing awareness of the internal narrative that shapes our choices.

Research consistently shows that reducing mental clutter, establishing healthy boundaries, and creating supportive environments improve focus, well-being, resilience, and productivity.

Today’s Coaching Challenge

Notice the conversation happening in your own mind.

What beliefs are shaping your current reality?

● Which thoughts deserve forgiveness—and which deserve your attention?

● Where might greater ownership create greater freedom?

● What small, intentional action would move you toward the life you want to create?

*Today, choose one recurring thought that feels limiting. Write it down, then replace it with one truthful, compassionate statement you can return to whenever that thought shows up.

-Sometimes the conditions don’t change first.

-We do.

When we choose self-awareness over self-criticism, accountability over blame, and curiosity over judgment, we create space for growth—not only for ourselves, but for everyone we lead.

Reflection for Your Team:

  • If your current mindset became your team’s culture, what would it inspire—and what would it limit?

  • Before the day ends, what is one thought you can release and one small action you can take to model the mindset you want to see?

Be intentional... Extend yourself the same grace you so willingly offer others... You never know who is waiting for your courage to become permission for theirs.

The life you build tomorrow begins with the story you’re willing to rewrite today.

You got this!
