Thursday's Thoughts

Thursday’s Thoughts: The Healing Power of Truth and Forgiveness
“Truth is defined as that which cannot be argued about. When the truth is expressed, there is room for the problem to transform in a healing direction.”— Gay Hendricks
June’s theme is Forgiveness.
From a coaching perspective, forgiveness is not about excusing behavior or avoiding accountability. It is about creating space for awareness, acceptance, ownership, and growth. It is the courageous work of facing what is true so healing and transformation can begin.
As leaders, team members, parents, partners, and community members, we are often challenged to navigate differences, difficult conversations, and competing perspectives. Yet meaningful progress begins when we are willing to stand in our truth with humility, while remaining curious about the experiences and truths of others.
As author Ijeoma Oluo reminds us:
“If you believe in justice and equality, we are in this together, whether you like me or not.”
In a world that often feels politically divided and economically uncertain, our shared humanity remains our greatest point of connection.
This week’s reflection:
What truth have you been avoiding that could create space for healing?
Where might self-forgiveness help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity?
How can accountability and compassion coexist in your leadership?
What conversations could benefit from more curiosity and less judgment?
How are you contributing to trust, inclusion, and belonging within your sphere of influence?
The most impactful leaders understand that transformation begins with awareness. When we release the need to be right and embrace the willingness to learn, grow, and connect, we create opportunities for ourselves—and others—to thrive.
How have you lived?
And when you reflect on your life, what impact, wisdom, and legacy do you hope to carry forward?
Share your thoughts below or discuss these questions with your team.
“In challenging times, let truth guide you, forgiveness free you, and purpose move you forward.”
Remember:
Forgiveness doesn’t change the past—it expands what’s possible for the future.
You got this!
