"The enemy of the ‘best’ is often the ‘good.’”

— Stephen Covey

Leaders and changemakers,

How often do we find ourselves saying yes to something that feels “good,” yet quietly drains our energy, time, or purpose?

As coaches, we know that discernment is a key leadership competency.

Saying no isn’t rejectionit’s a conscious act of alignment. Each “no” creates space for what truly matters, for what’s best and most congruent with your mission and values.

When you pause before saying “yes,” ask yourself:

  • Is this opportunity aligned with my core values and long-term vision?

  • Will saying yes move me toward my strategic goals, or merely keep me busy?

  • Am I operating from a place of purpose or pressure?

Remember: Boundaries are not barriers—they’re bridges to balance and brilliance.

So today, choose intentionality over impulse, impact over activity, and your best over just the “good.

Protect your purpose—because “good enough” is never enough when your best is waiting to emerge.

You got this!
