Good Day Leaders,
Let's begin today gaining some inspiration from this Monday’s African Proverb:
“The child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”
Let’s pause, breathe, and center ourselves:
Inhale deeply… exhale fully…
Inhale… exhale…
Allow yourself to be fully present here...
In leadership and organizational life, this proverb is not about children alone—it is about people... Teams... Communities... Companies.
When individuals do not feel a sense of belonging, acknowledgment, or psychological safety, they may disengage—or worse, disrupt—in order to be seen.
In coaching, we often say:
Energy will always find expression.
The question is, will it be constructive or destructive?
As a leader, pause and consider:
Where in your organization are people longing for connection but instead experiencing isolation?
How do you, as an executive or influencer, create space for voices that are not yet being heard?
What systems of recognition and inclusion could transform potential resistance into shared commitment?
This proverb calls us to embrace the responsibility of building the village—not just for productivity, but for resilience, trust, and sustainable impact.
Monday Reflection for You and Your Team:
What one action could you take this week to create warmth, connection, and authentic belonging in your sphere of influence?
In a time when division is easy, choose to be the leader who builds bridges, not fires.
You got this!
