Monday Madness: Faith in the Vision

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.—Helen Keller

But here’s the Monday Madness question:

What if the challenge isn’t whether you have a vision… but whether you still have faith in it when the path becomes unclear?

A new school year is beginning. Parents and students are adjusting to new routines. Quarterly deadlines are approaching. Work demands are accelerating. And before we know it, the holiday season will be here.

Life is moving. And sometimes, when life gets noisy, our vision gets quieter.

So pause:

-Take a breath in… Exhale slowly.

-Again…Breathe in... Exhale.

Give yourself permission to be fully present with what matters most.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I building that still matters to me—even if I cannot see the entire path yet?

  • What assumptions, fears, or distractions may be getting in the way of moving toward it?

  • What is one intentional step I can take this week that aligns with the person, leader, parent, professional, or organization I want to become?

Faith does not mean ignoring reality.

It can mean acknowledging the uncertainty and choosing not to let uncertainty make the decision for you.

From a coaching perspective, powerful change often begins with awareness:

  • What do you want?

  • What matters most?

  • What is within your influence?

  • What possibilities have you not yet considered?

Then comes action.

The ICF’s current coaching framework emphasizes helping clients transform awareness and insight into meaningful action while honoring their autonomy and supporting accountability. (ICF)

And research on psychological capital reminds us that hope is more than wishful thinking. Hope involves meaningful goals, pathways forward, confidence, resilience, and realistic optimism. (American Psychological Association)

This Week’s Challenge:

  1. Choose ONE vision that deserves your attention.

Not ten... Not everything... One.

  1. Give it your presence.. .Give it your intention... Give it one meaningful action.

And if the original path doesn’t work..

  1. Pause... Learn... Reassess... Create another pathway.

That isn’t failure... That is faith in motion.

For Reflection — and Conversation With Your Team:

  • What vision are you still committed to, even though the path has changed?

  • Where might you need more clarity before taking your next step?

  • What is one action your team can take this week that moves your shared vision from conversation to execution?

  • How can you create an environment where people feel safe enough to question assumptions, explore possibilities, and contribute to the vision?

Don’t wait for certainty to move. Sometimes clarity is created by taking the next courageous step.

When the road ahead is uncertain, let faith inform the vision—and let intentional action move you forward.

You got this!
