Monday Madness: The Power of Connection
“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued.”
— Brené Brown
Good Morning, Leaders
In times of uncertainty and tension—especially in politically charged climates—connection becomes more than a skill; it becomes a strategic act of leadership.
So pause for a moment and reflect:
How do you intentionally cultivate genuine connection in your professional role?
Who was the last person you truly connected with—and what made that interaction meaningful?
How aligned and connected are you right now… with your higher power, yourself, your partner, children, colleagues, or your team?
When we feel seen, heard, and valued, we operate from a place of wholeness. That energy radiates outward, strengthening culture, engagement, and trust—three cornerstones of conscious leadership.
Here are 10 Intentional Ways to Deepen Connection and Strengthen Your Team, *inspired by the Forbes Coaches Council:
Hold Regular 1:1 Conversations. Create space for authentic dialogue, not just updates. What’s one question you can ask that invites vulnerability and insight?
Include Everyone in Decisions. Use language that empowers: “What are your thoughts?” builds trust, ownership, and shared accountability.
Seek Feedback on Your Leadership. Ask: “How am I showing up as your leader?” True growth begins with courageous listening.
Engage in Meaningful Small Talk. Connect beyond the task. Curiosity communicates care.
Ask, Listen, Respond, and Recognize. Presence matters. Recognition fuels motivation.
Be Transparent with Your Mission and Method. Clarity creates shared purpose; transparency builds relational equity.
Focus on the S.M.A.L.L. Things. Show gratitude. Motivate. Acknowledge effort. Lead by example. Learn continuously.
Lead with Thoughtfulness. See your team as people first, professionals second. Notice, check in, and be present.
Act on Feedback. Implementation shows respect. When ideas become action, engagement becomes culture.
Acknowledge with a Smile. Authentic presence begins with simple gestures of recognition.
As we step into the final week of October and move toward the holiday season, consider this your leadership reset.
Ask yourself:
What one connection will I strengthen today—personally, socially, or professionally?
How can I model the kind of connection that builds trust, belonging, and resilience in my sphere of influence?
Remember, leadership is not about control—it’s about connection.
Leaders lead... Connect intentionally... Inspire courageously...
You got this!
