Tuesday's Talk

Tuesday's Talk: TRUST The Process
Good Morning!
For many of us, today marks the first day back to work after the Labor Day weekend—a return to calendars, meetings, deadlines, decisions, and responsibilities that may have been waiting patiently for our return.
Before you rush to catch up, how do you want to show up?
Pause for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
-Take a deep breath in…
-exhale slowly.
Again… breathe in… exhale slowly.
-One more time… breathe in… exhale slowly.
Be present.
Life is a process.
Reading Iyanla Vanzant this morning reminded me of an old saying: you reap what you sow.
We often talk about trusting the process when we cannot see the outcome. But trust does not mean sitting still and hoping everything works out.
Trust asks something of us.
It asks us to remain intentional when progress feels slow. To honor our commitments when motivation changes. To adjust when something is not working. And to continue taking purposeful action toward what matters.
In coaching, awareness is important—but awareness without action rarely creates sustainable change.
The International Coaching Federation emphasizes partnering with clients to transform insight into meaningful action, accountability, and continued growth. Trusting the process requires a similar partnership with ourselves: listening, learning, choosing, acting, and adjusting along the way.
Consider:
Where are you asking yourself—or your team—to trust a process without clearly defining the actions needed to support it?
What commitment are you willing to honor even when the results are not immediately visible?
And perhaps the harder question:
Where might your words and intentions be stronger than your follow-through?
For leaders, this matters beyond individual achievement. Trust is built through what people consistently experience—not simply what leaders promise.
So, as you and your team return from the long weekend, resist the pressure to make today solely about catching up.
Instead, consider:
What deserves your attention—and what can wait?
What is one intentional action you can take today that builds trust, creates momentum, or moves something meaningful forward?
You do not have to accomplish everything on the first day back. You do not have to know every step before taking the next one.
Till your mental soil with determination. Plant with intention. Nurture with disciplined effort. Learn from what grows.
Then keep going...
As you return to work this week, remember:
You don’t have to rush the process to make progress—TRUST it, contribute to it, and take the next intentional step.
You got this!
