Wednesday Wisdom | Pause, Presence & Perspective
“What you’re not aware of is often what’s shaping the conversation most.”
What are you carrying today?
Not as a leader.
Not as a coach.
As a human.
In conversations with clients this season, I’m noticing a pattern:
Fuller plates. Heavier dialogue. More beneath the surface.
The transition from Q1 to Q2 often brings performance pressure—but layered with today’s social and political climate, many are holding more than what’s spoken.
And as coaches and leaders, we’re holding space for all of it.
So the question becomes:
How are you showing up in the space you hold?
Because presence isn’t just about being attentive.
It’s about being aware.
Aware of:
What you’re carrying
What your client may be navigating
And what might be influencing the space—culturally, emotionally, systemically
Especially now, culturally responsive coaching and leadership isn’t optional—it’s essential.
Not as a checkbox.
But as a practice rooted in curiosity, humility, and respect for lived experience.
This is where perspective matters.
Not just what we see…
But what we might be missing.
A few questions to sit with—and perhaps bring to your team:
• How is the current climate showing up in your conversations—explicitly or subtly?
• Where might your own lived experience be shaping what you notice… or don’t notice?
• When do you feel most equipped to hold difference—and when does it feel more challenging?
• What would it look like to create space where people feel fully seen, heard, and respected?
A simple leadership practice to model this week:
=Pause before your next conversation.
-Take one breath to release.
-One breath to arrive.
Then ask—not assume.
Lead with curiosity over certainty.

Because presence is powerful… and informed presence is transformational.
