“Be brave. Let go. Trust the process. Allow the universe to reveal its beautiful plan.”
― Amy Atherton
As leaders, executives, and changemakers, we often strive to control outcomes—but what if the real growth lies in trusting the unfolding journey?
Take a pause with me right now. Free yourself from distractions:
Deep breath in… exhale slowly.
Deep breath in… exhale slowly.
Deep breath in… exhale slowly.
Notice what shifts when you create space to simply be present.
Now reflect:
What does “trusting the process” look like for you—professionally and personally?
How would your leadership shift if you released the need to control every step and leaned into curiosity, learning, and resilience?
Where might you already be experiencing growth that you haven’t yet celebrated?
The truth is, trusting the process doesn’t mean ignoring obstacles—it means integrating them as part of your growth.
The Urban Dictionary offers a lighthearted yet wise definition: carrying out a long-term task or goal with the belief that—even through hiccups and setbacks—you’ll arrive at a worthwhile outcome.
As you step into today, consider this mantra:
“I will go with the flow of life and trust the process. I will not stress over what I cannot control.”
To deepen this practice, here are 8 strategies to add to your leadership and life toolbox (adapted from developgoodhabits.com):
Focus on the value you’re adding. Celebrate progress, not just end results.
Control what you can, release what you can’t. Build resilience by shifting your energy to what’s within reach.
Have faith in the unknown. Let uncertainty be the classroom where wisdom is born.
Apply what you learn at each step. Growth compounds when lessons are integrated, not rushed.
Practice gratitude. Anchor yourself in what is working—gratitude transforms perspective.
Visualize success. Your brain follows where your focus goes—see it, believe it, move toward it.
Ignore the naysayers. Protect your energy from voices that distract from your purpose.
Embrace failure as feedback. Struggle is often proof that you’re stretching into new territory.
Reflection for you and your teams:
Where do you most need to trust the process right now?
What would shift if you intentionally reframed challenges as growth opportunities?
How might you lead by example so others feel permission to embrace their own process?
Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same—and watch the ripple effect unfold.
Courageous leaders don’t just survive the process—they shape it... Courageous leaders don’t just manage the process—they elevate it!
You got this!
