MONDAY MADNESS | FAITH → ACTION

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement; nothing can be done without hope.”

— Helen Keller, Optimism (1903) (Wikisource)

What if faith isn’t just about believing something will work out… but believing enough to take the next step?

Today is the last day of August.

A month of FAITH.

And perhaps a good time to pause—not to measure everything you accomplished, but to notice how you showed up when life didn’t go according to plan:

-Take a breath.

-Inhale.

-Exhale.

-Again.

Now ask yourself:

What have I learned about myself this month?

As August gives way to September, the pace may intensify.

Students and parents are adjusting to new routines. Back-to-school schedules are underway. Quarterly deadlines are approaching. Leaders and teams are navigating competing priorities. And before we know it, the holiday season will be here.

Add economic uncertainty, workplace change, and an increasingly polarized environment—and it’s understandable that many of us may feel stretched.

But being stretched is not the same as being defeated.

Research from the American Psychological Association continues to highlight the relationship between uncertainty, stress, resilience, hope, and our ability to adapt. APA also emphasizes focusing on what is within our control, maintaining connection, practicing self-compassion, and drawing on previous experiences of overcoming adversity. (American Psychological Association)

From a coaching perspective, this is where awareness creates choice.

Instead of asking:

“How am I going to manage everything?”

Try asking:

“What matters most right now?”

“What is within my influence?”

“What do I need to release, renegotiate, or re-prioritize?”

“What is one intentional action I am willing to take today?”

And for leaders:

What conversations could your team have if you created more space for reflection, psychological safety, and possibility?

Faith does not require us to ignore reality.

Sometimes faith means acknowledging reality and still choosing to move forward.

Your Monday Challenge:

As you close out August and step into September, identify:

  1. ONE thing to accept.

  2. ONE thing to release.

  3. ONE thing to believe.

  4. ONE thing to do.

Then invite someone on your team, in your family, or within your community to do the same.

Because meaningful change rarely begins with having every answer.

It begins with awareness, a willingness to choose, and the courage to take the next step.

Today’s Affirmation:

I trust myself to navigate what I cannot control, influence what I can, and take the next right step with faith.

So, I’ll leave you with this:

What are you willing to do differently because you still believe something better is possible?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Faith → Awareness → Choice → Action.

A little encouragement for the road:

When the world feels uncertain, let your faith be bigger than your fear, your purpose stronger than the pressure, and your next step intentional.

Keep going. Your next chapter doesn’t require you to have it all figured out—it requires you to keep showing up.

Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same—and watch what happens.

You got this!
