Monday Madness

Monday Madness:
What Might Become Possible If You Chose Forgiveness Today?
“Forgiveness is not something you do. It is a state of being that, when offered, brings forth the truth of who you are.”— Iyanla Vanzant
As you begin this new week, consider this:
What are you still carrying that no longer serves the leader, colleague, partner, or person you are becoming?
Forgiveness is often misunderstood. It is not about excusing behavior, forgetting what happened, or abandoning accountability.
Research suggests forgiveness is a conscious decision to release resentment and free yourself from the emotional burden of the past. In doing so, you create space for healing, growth, resilience, and renewed possibility. (Greater Good)
As coaches, we often witness how unresolved disappointment, regret, self-criticism, and unmet expectations can quietly influence decision-making, relationships, and leadership effectiveness.
Perhaps the harder question is not:
Can you forgive someone else?
More importantly, the question is:
Can you forgive yourself?
Maya Angelou reminds us:
“Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it.”
Self-forgiveness requires courage, self-awareness, compassion, and a willingness to learn rather than remain stuck in judgment.
Consider reflecting on these coaching questions:
What past experience are you ready to release?
Where might self-compassion create new opportunities for growth?
What assumptions, beliefs, or stories about yourself are overdue for revision?
How would your leadership, relationships, and well-being change if you chose progress over perfection?
What is one intentional action you can take this week to extend grace to yourself or someone else?
Today’s Affirmation:
I am willing to release what no longer serves me and embrace the wisdom gained through my experiences.
The work of forgiveness is not about changing the past...
It is about reclaiming your power in the present.
You may discover that freedom begins where forgiveness starts.
When you release the weight of yesterday, you create space to lead with purpose today.
You’ve got this!
