Monday Madness: Going the Extra Mile or the Bare Minimum?
Inspired by Iyanla Vanzant’s “Until Today: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind”
“The greatest service I can offer is being the best of who I am.”
As leaders, professionals, and human beings navigating a chaotic world, this truth hits differently on a Monday.
The pressure to produce, perform, and power through can overshadow our deeper commitment to authenticity, self-alignment, and purposeful leadership.
But here’s the coaching reframe:
Being “the best you” is not about overextending yourself—it’s about leading from your core values, not your conditioning.
Pause and ask yourself:
When was the last time I honored my needs with the same intensity that I honor my responsibilities?
Am I operating from internal alignment or external expectation?
What would it look like to lead with authenticity instead of obligation?
Iyanla’s question echoes here: Is struggle, servitude, and sacrifice the best life has to offer?
High achievers often equate worth with overextension. Yet sustainable leadership requires both giving and receiving.
Reflective Coaching Prompt:
Giving is powerful—but do you know how to receive?

Help
Many leaders excel at contribution but struggle with receptivity, which is a key competency for resilience, creativity, and emotional agility.
Releasing Limits
To expand what you have, you must first believe you have permission to expand.
Start by identifying:
Limiting beliefs that shrink your confidence
Restrictive behaviors that minimize your influence
Narratives you’ve outgrown but still obey
Growth begins where self-permission meets intentional action.
Affirmation
“Today, I am devoted to allowing myself to explore the best of all possibilities for myself.”
In times like these, give yourself the freedom to lead boldly, breathe deeply, and believe bigger.
You got this!
